This GB swimming coach’s achievements and awards
With over 25 years experience, there have been many highlights for this GB swimming coach, from spotting great swimming talent, seeing and helping swimmers grow, develop and reach their potential, and in particular, having the privilege of playing a part in the explosion of Para-Swimming in the UK after the 2012 London Paralympic Games.
To give you a glimpse of Glenn’s coaching career, we thought we’d share some of his main achievements and awards.
Main achievements
- As a GB swimming coach, Glenn was part of the coaching team that spotted the talent of young Rebecca Adlington OBE. He coached her during her early development years leading on to her great swimming achievements and becoming double Olympic champion & Double Olympic Bronze Medalist
- He coached Paralympic champion Sam Hynd for 8 years. During this time Sam won gold at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing and set the previous world record for the S8 400m freestyle.
- He also coached Sam’s brother, Ollie Hynd MBE. Ollie has achieved great success becoming British, Commonwealth, European, World and Paralympic champion. Find out more about Ollie…

- Glenn was the recipient of the British Swimming Para Coach of the Year in 2015, and has twice been voted British Para Coach of the year in 2015 & 216 by the British Swimming Coaches Association.
